Headquarters & Headquarters Company supported the headquarters and the operational mission for all of the Victory Base Complex (VBC) during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM 07-09. As such, the company had the largest mission of any company in the 160th Signal Brigade, providing voice and data communications to over 20,000 users across Victory Base Complex with 147 Soldiers and 210 contract employees.
They significantly improved the operations of three Technical Control Facilities (TCF), four automation help desks, and took infrastructure operation and maintenance (O&M) as well as new cable installation projects across VBC to a higher level. A few of their numerous accomplishments include: executing a fiber and copper mapping plan for over 500 cable runs; directing the completion of over 200 new cable missions to include providing all trenching, cable installation, termination and testing; completed over 3,000 O&M missions that improved and ensured the quality of service to the customers at VBC; ensured four Help Desks on VBC were responsive as they processed over 2,200 Remedy Tickets each month; ran over 100 miles of fiber optic cabling; and providing cable installation, termination, documentation, and testing for the cutover of tactical IGX switches to the strategic SL-100 switch.
